What is a TTL?

The TTL (time to live) is the amount of time (in seconds) your zone or record will be cached by remote Internet name servers. The higher the TTL the less frequently remote Internet name servers will query your authorative name servers for a fresh copy of your zone. The lower the TTL the more frequent remote name servers will query your servers and the faster DNS updates will propogate.
